How live sessions work
Start a session from the class card. Students join on their own devices with the class code — no app install, no account. Activities you run from the slide show up on their screens in the same order, so you can stay on the deck while they answer.
When you end the session, responses stay attached to Math 8B. Reopen last Tuesday’s quiz from the class, not from a downloads folder. Scores and names are ready for the next lesson without exporting first.
Groups you already made (Table 1 through Table 4) carry into the live view. You can still reassign a student mid-session if someone joins late.
Before you share the code
Students will see the class name exactly as it is typed here. If this is a shared device cart, keep the name short so it fits on a phone lock screen. Changing it later does not change the class code.
Reports from past sessions are not visible to students. Guests who join with the code can answer live questions but will not see anyone else’s scores, group names, or the roster.
Turning on “require a display name” asks each device for a name before the first activity. Use this when you need the roster to match, skip it for a quick poll at the start of class.
End this session?
Students will be signed out of the live view. Answers already submitted stay on the class. Anyone who still has the code can rejoin if you start again.
This does not delete Math 8B or the 23 responses from this session. You can resume from the class card if you closed this by mistake.
